During my 3+ years of User Research internship experience, I have worked on AAA titles, including 3 PC games, 12 mobile games, and 2 mobile apps.
Skills:
Heuristic Evaluation, Expert Review, Usability Testing, Concept Testing, A/B Testing, Focus Groups, Lab Testing, Remote Testing, Moderated Testing, Unmoderated Testing, Interview, Survey
My main responsibilities as a UX Researcher involved:
- Planned and conducted in-person and remote research projects with varying methodologies.
- Observed, recorded, and analyzed playtest footage using software such as OBS Studios and PlaytestCloud, and organized reports and surveys on improving product usability and playability.
- Identified hypotheses of product issues that were validated through user testing using quantitative, graphical data as well as qualitative video evidence,
- Collaborated with other UX researchers on data analysis to form comprehensible reports for designers to iterate their games/products.
Because all my internship projects are confidential, I include the UX Research Report for Illum and two of my personal projects' mini reports on Asphalt 9 and Clash Royale on this page.
This is the User Research Report for Illum's beta build. In this research study, I playtested the game remotely with 7 players who were new to the game. The study goals focused on New Player Experience, Mechanics and Difficulty, Narrative, Level Design, and Self-Efficacy.
Research Methods: Heuristic Evaluation, Expert Review, Usability Testing, Observation, Remote Testing, Survey, Interview.
This is my personal project about the game Asphalt 9. In this research study, I watched footage of 1 player's playtest session and focused on the usability and playability of New Player Experience, Player Game Mode Preferences, User Interface, and the game's Upgrade System.
Research Methods: Heuristic Evaluation, Expert Review, Usability Testing, Observation, Remote Testing.
This is my personal project about the game Clash Royale. In this research study, I playtested the game myself and analyzed my own play experience during and after the play. The study focus is New Player Experience on the first 1 hour of play.
Research Methods: Heuristic Evaluation, Expert Review, Usability Testing.
